Cozy Pie is the creation of Cozetta Barnes. She is a loving wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, and retired school teacher who has a passion for baking my mother’s Famous “Southern Style” Pecan Pie. With a goal of empowering women business owners we partnered with one of the greats. 

Our story dates back to 1971 where Cozetta “Cookie” Barnes-Gray was a young woman fresh out of college when she lost her dad, Grand dad Barnes.  After the funeral at the home repass a nice local woman (Mrs. Suge Porter) brought over a Pecan Pie for the family.  Cookie had never eaten pecan pie and decided to try a slice despite feeling devastated in losing her Dad.  She tried it and instantly felt “warmth, comfort, secure and her sadness faded away in that moment.  It was in that moment she fell in love with this southern classic dessert.  She began experimenting trying to duplicate both the taste and experience he had.  After several attempts she not only discovered the recipe but improved upon it.  Thus, the Cozy Pecan Pie was born!
